Activities & Operational Information

From our mission statement, we have three primary functions and objectives:

Water Systems: The Living Waters Honduras Mission, through our well construction projects are providing potable water to the small communities and villages in the Mosquito Coast and other areas of Honduras. These well construction projects continue regularly as they have over the many years. Our local missionary coordinator, Frank Monterroso, who also resides in the Mosquito Coast area, has supervised and installed nearly 300 wells. We are now beginning to install water systems that run with gasoline-powered pumps which supply water to an entire community. A community water system is more economical, yielding clean water for more people as opposed to installing multiple, single wells.

Living Waters is instrumental in the construction the water systems by organizing and sending work teams to install the wells, pumps and the pipe systems. These groups consist of private individuals working as volunteers who provide labor for the project. These volunteer groups supply their own funds for the trip. Living Waters Honduras Mission will provide the materials through private donations from various supporting churches and other individual contributions.

The Honduran people dig the trenches for the pipe and help Pastor Monterroso dig the well. The site is prepared for the Living Waters construction team before they arrive.

Medical: Our medical and dental teams from the United States travel into Honduras to give basic medical aid to people who have no means to access the very limited medical system in this country. Government supported health care is virtually non existent in Honduras. The private health system is not affordable to most citizens as the per capita income is $894.00 per year, ranking 123 out of a global list of 187.

Living Waters' Doctors, Dentists and technicians are providing basic health care for various medical problems with supplies and materials provided by The Living Waters Honduras Mission. Our teams also train the Hondurans to give basic dentistry and medical care to people in the La Ceiba area and in the isolated villages on the Mosquito Coast.

Spiritual Enrichment: We also participate in the Spiritual enrichment of existing churches in Honduras by teaching, preaching, and conducting pastoral training seminars. We do not start or control any existing religions organizations in Honduras. We only serve the Lord by helping the established ministries.
